Hello Friends

I want to start by thanking you so very much for visiting my little blog. I appreciate each and every one of you so very much! I also want to let you know that posts will be a little light in the next few weeks (probably around 3 per week for a bit) while I do some re-grouping. I am taking a fabulous blogging course (Blogging Your Way 2.0) by decor8's Holly Becker and I'm focusing on some of the assignments and such right now. I've been wanting to make some changes for awhile now and this course will hopefully guide me in the right direction.

When I first started this blog, about one and a half years ago, I had hoped to eek a decent little income from it. Something akin to a part-time job. Alas, I work on it almost full-time hours and haven't been able thus far to carve out what I had hoped (monetary-wise). However, I do have some fantastic sponsors (see them over there? ------------> They are wonderful!) and have had a lot of fun. Really, I'd do this for free if I didn't need to help my family with some sort of income! Why am I telling you this? In addition to "keeping it real", I also wanted to explain some of the changes that may be coming.

I need to find a better balance between work/hobby/income. I may need to get a part-time job. I may find some more freelance opportunities. I may make a final push for more readership for this blog. I'm still working it out. But I plan to have it "figured out" in the next few months. So changes they are a-coming.

You may have already noticed a few changes that I haven't talked about. I stopped the fabric features. I found out that what I was doing was not within the scope of use for the copyrights of the designs. Though some people have indicated that most designers and manufacturers would not mind, I really, really, don't have time to contact all the right people to find out. And then I saw one of my collages pinned on Pinterest with the words "would make great note cards". I thought, "oh, no, I don't need to be involved with that!" I now only feature photographs of fabric rather than the artwork itself. I think if one were to feature fabric artwork on one's blog it would need to be not in a collage-type way, but just the pictures. But I'm not sure and don't have the means of navigating it.

I'm also planning to feature more of my own sewing projects and more tutorials (original content, in blog-speak). I plan to continue the round-ups and Flickr features as well as occasional photo shoots from manufacturers, designers and pattern-makers. Also, book and pattern reviews. And, I have some ideas for some new features as well.

Now it's your turn. I'd love it if you could help me out. What would you like to see on this blog? I'd love your opinions, thoughts, advice. What do you think?
